Ludhiana, March 25, 2015: Aided Schools have demanded that government should release the annual budget for the salary of 4,000 employees working in 484 aided schools. Davinder Rehan, Press Secretary, Punjab State Aided Schools Teachers & Other Employees Union Ludhiana District, said although the nature of job of teachers of government schools and government-aided private schools is the same. The state government never released the grant for the salaries to the teaching and non-teaching staff in aided schools in time.
In a statement here today, he added that 95 per cent of the grant came from state government while just 5 per cent had to be put by the school managements. This was a routine that teachers always get their salaries late.
He added the permanent solution of this problem is that the government should release the annual budget to the District Education Officers for disbursing the salary. Aided schools will submit their monthly bills to District Education Officers & the same should be cleared from the treasury. By doing so Aided School employees will able to get their monthly salary in time, he opined.
