Agri Varsity Conducts Training Programme On Fruit And Vegetable Preservation

Ludhiana, March 28, 2016: The department of Extension Education organised a training programme on preservation of fruits and vegetables at village Rattowal under the guidance of Dr Jaswinder Singh Bhalla, Professor and Head, Department of Extension Education. As many as 37 women participants from the village were imparted knowledge on different techniques of fruits and vegetables besides a demonstration on preparation of fruit jams and squashes by Astt. Vegetable Technologist, Dr Swati Kapoor. Dr Dharminder Singh, Assistant Extension Specialist motivated the participants to engage in income generating activities after getting vocational trainings from PAU. He encouraged them to form self help groups (SHGs) for success of such ventures. Dr Pankaj Kumar, Assistant Extension Specialist also stressed upon the need of fruit and vegetable preservation.
