7-day NSS Camp concluded at HMV

Jalandhar, December 25, 2015: NSS Department of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized a 7-day Camp in the college campus.  In the closing ceremony of the camp on Thursday, Principal Dr.Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj presided over the function and gave away certificates and awards to the NSS volunteers.
 
She motivated the students to take part in social activities and also emphasized on major issues like women protection and education and protection of environment.
 
The Report of the camp was presented by the Programme Officer, Prof. Kuljeet Kaur.  The stage was conducted by Sapna, Amrit Kaur presented the Poetry.  A folk song was presented by Anshu and Aastha took everyone breath away with the performance in Mimicry.
 
In the prize distribution ceremony, Amrit, Anshu and Sapna were given first, second and third prize respectively in Poem recitation competition which was organized during the camp.
 
Tavleen was declared as the Best Camper.  Sapna, Aastha and Rapinder were given the award of Best contribution.
 
The performance of the volunteers during the camp was remarkable.  The volunteers visited the Govt. High School at Gandhi Vanita Ashram and told the students the importance of education.  They also donated clothes, stationery items to the needy students and painted black boards, trees, plant pots and side pebbles.  They also undertook the task of white washing tree trunks upto 2 feet in the college.  To add to the knowledge of students lecture sessions were delivered by eminent social activists, including Prof. Lakhbir Singh, President of NGO Pahal.  Liakatbir Singh and Dr. Mahima Khosla.
 
Prof. Kuljit Kaur, Prof. Veena Arora, Prof. Sukhwinder Kaur, Prof. Prabhjot Kaur and Prof. Harmanpreet Kaur were the programme officers of this camp.
