66 KV power station in phase 8, Focal Point, Ludhiana non-functional after rain

Ludhiana, July 29, 2014: Federation of Industrial and Commercial organisations (FICO), Ludhiana president Gurmeet Singh Kular has said 66 KV power station in phase 8, Focal Point, Ludhiana, was flooded after heavy rains on Monday morning. Since then there is no power supply, he added.

In a statement here today, he said he had contacted Rachpal Singh, Chief Engineer, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), Central Zone, Ludhiana and requested him for restoring power supply as early as possible but till today power could not restored up to 5.30 pm.

“It is a huge loss to industry as well as to PSPCL”, he said.

He asserted that PSPCL should take preventive steps to meet such situations in the future.

Meanwhile, FICO office bearers held a meeting today under presidentship of Kular, in which KK Seth (chairman), Manjinder Singh Sachdeva (general secretary), Rajeev Jain (secretary) and Jagatvir Singh (joint secretary) were present. The meeting thanked to the state government for withdrawing Section 13(1) of  VAT Act because it was very difficult for industry to calculate the utilisation of input tax credit.
