Ludhiana, December 22, 2017: Federation of Industrial & Commercial Organization popularly known as FICO, organized a free awareness programme on ZED (Zero Defect Zero Effect) Certification Scheme, at FICO Head Office Jaimal Road, Janta Nagar, Ludhiana. The program was inaugurated by S. Paramjeet Singh Zonal General Manager, NSIC along with Sh. Bharat Ahuja AGM State Bank of India.
Mr.Sankalp Master Trainer (ZED) from Quality Council of India along with Madam Sonu Kakkar, Master Trainer ZED, From PTU Nalanda School of TQM & Entrepreneurship, Mohali. The basic objective of the programme on ZED is to create proper awareness in MSMEs about ZED Manufacturing and motivate them for assessment of their enterprises for ZED rating. Most of the Quality Management systems which are being used in India like Lean Manufacturing, Kiazan etc are based on Japanese theory. But ZED is the first India model which has been introduced by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, ZED certification is going to lead in India in the next decade. The knowledge of subsidies to Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises have been transformed to the members present. Expenditure, Manufacturing Process, various steps of assessment, support of the government in ZED besides the need & importance of ZED were discussed. More than 50 registrations have been made by FICO towards ZED.

It may be recalled here that addressing the nation on India's 68th Independence Day, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had urged the industry, especially the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of India, to manufacture goods in the country with "zero defects" and to ensure that the goods have "zero effect" on the environment. "We should manufacture goods in such a way that they carry zero defect and that our exported goods are never returned to us. We should manufacture goods with zero effect that they should not have a negative impact on the environment", he had said. With an aim to make India a global manufacturing hub, the Prime Minister had given an open invitation to manufacturers and investors across the world to establish manufacturing units in India.
