5 Day Faculty Development Program Commences at KMV

Jalandhar, December 11, 2018: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya - The Heritage and Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar organizing a 5 day Faculty Development Program on ''Innovations and Latest Developments in Academia and Research'' from 11 December to 15 December, 2018. The program has been jointly organized by the PG department of Computer Science and Applications & IQAC. The first day commenced with the Inaugural Session of the program in which the Guest of Honor Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi lighted the holy lamp amidst the holy enchants. She welcomed all the participants on the occasion and averred that the faculty development program is a great method for the teachers to reinvent themselves as it gives them a platform where they can share their own experiences with each other and thus can grow mutually. She also stressed on the change and excellence which needs to be inculcated in the modern teaching practices. The first session of the day was addressed by Major General G.G. Dwivedi. The topic of his talk was ''Redefining the Role of a Teacher''. In his inspiring and brilliant talk, he emphasized that how a teacher should be able to guide and motivate his students and should play the role of a 'Leader' in the students' life. The second session of the day was also addressed by Major General G.G. Dwivedi. His topic of the talk was ''Excellence in Education through Disruptive Measures''. In his second session, he talked that how excellence can be inculcated instead of following the obsolete practices. During his talk, he also discussed 4 case studies based on his real life experiences in order to make the concepts more precise and clear. The faculty was enthralled to go through such an emotional and reality based case studies. His talks were an eye-opener for all the present as he stressed on the role of teacher as a tutor and a leader.
The third and the last session of the day was addressed by Dr. Vanita Khanna, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Law, GNDU Regional Campus, Jalandhar. The topic of her talk was ''Fundamentals of Intellectual Property Rights: Stepping towards world of Artificial Intelligence. During her talk, Dr Khanna explained and also clarified various arenas pertaining to patents & copyrights such as criterion of copyrights, difference between patent & copyrights, what are the essentials of a patent and how the Intellectual Property Rights are important for the teachers. The Vote of Thanks was given by Dr. Pardeep Arora to the present dignitaries. Madam Principal congratulated the Organizing Committee for successfully organizing the Faculty Development Program and she also lauded the efforts of Mrs. Suman Khurana, HOD, PG department of Computer Science and Applications and all the faculty members for their efforts. The first day of the program ended on a high note with the faculty members looking forward enthusiastically for the upcoming days of FDP.
