Amritsar, November 3, 2015: Guru Nanak Dev University would celebrates its 46th Foundation Day on 24 November at the various venues in the University Campus.
Prof.Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Registrar said that various committees have been constituted for the smooth conduct of celebrations of Foundation Day by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ajaib Singh Brar. He said that H.E. Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governor of Punjab and Chancellor will preside over the celebrations. Prof. Mrinal Miri, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) & Chairman, Indian Council of Philosophical Research, New Delhi and Prof. Balwant Singh Dhillon, Former Director, Centre on Studies in Sri Guru Granth Sahib of the university will be delivering Academic Lectures in the Guru Nanak Bhawan Auditorium of the University at 11:00 am.
He said that the celebrations would be started with Bhog Sri Akhand Path at University Gurdwara Sahib followed by Shabad Kirtan. He said that exhibitions of books, rare books, manuscripts, rare photographs, Painting and Folklore would be the main attraction on this occasion. He said that these exhibitions would be organized at various venues in the University.
He said that Guru-Ka-Langar would be server at Senate Hall Lawns followed by Hockey Match at the Astroturf Stadium. He said that in the evening another Kirtan Darbar at the University Gurdwara Sahib would also be organized. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
