3rd PAU Pensioners' Mela held

Ludhiana, March 14, 2015: The 3rd PAU Pensioners' Mela was held in the Pal Auditorium, PAU, Ludhiana. More than 600 retirees participated in the Mela with pump and show. D.P.Maur, Chairman, PAU Retirees' Welfare Association welcomed the audience and highlighted the events of the Mela in detail. He also touched the demands relating to the pensioners. A big shamiana was erected outside in the lawn for refreshment and lunch. Satish Sood conducted the stage as General Secretary and highlighted the events of the Mela. He also highlighted the functioning of the Association.

The Mela was inaugurated by Guljar Singh Sandhu, President Sahit Academy, New Delhi. He along with his wife honoured with garlands and shawls. Maheshinder Singh Grewal, Advisor to CM Punjab was the Chief Guest and took part in the mela. He was also garlanded and honoured. He took keen interest in the proceedings of the Mela. Jila Ram Bansal, President PAU Retirees' Welfare Association (R) lauded the timely help of Grewal for the difficulties of delay in the release of funds by the Government of Punjab to PAU in detail. He also brought to the notice of Grewal for the non receipt of Rs. 20 crores already deposited with the government by the Mandi Board. Satish Sood told that the regularisation of pension for the so many months is only with the intervention of Maheshinder Singh Grewal. He also lauded his role for the release of the grant to the PAU.
