Indore, October 02, 2017: It was an impressive display of talent at the inaugural run of the Indore leg of the 10K INTENCITY Run with Sukhdev Singh and Monika Chaudhary sharing the limelight for the top honours in the 10 kilometre run that commenced from the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, Indore on Sunday.
While Sukhdev Singh led convincingly clocking 31:58 mins in the men’s category, it was a photo-finish in the women’s 10 kilometre run with Monika Chaudhary and Phulan Pal crossing the finish line with a gap of two seconds. Chaudhary finished with timings of 37:30 mins.
The Indore run had its own share of glitz with over 100 runners’ of Om Prakash Jaiswal Academy ran the 5km Run with a 50 feet Indian flat over the course and spread the message of a Green, Healthy India.
The 10K INTENCITY Indore Run was graced by eminent personalities like Pappu Yadav, Olympian wrestler, Ankit Sharma, Rio Olympian, Ramesh Mendola, MLA and President, Madhya Pradesh Olympic Association, Om Soni, Vice president, Madhya Pradesh Olympic Association along with ace runners like Sameer Singh, Col Sunderesan R, Girish Agarwal, Secretary, Academy of Indore Marathon Runners and Joseph Baxla, District Sports Officer, Indore.
Speaking at the event, Pappu Yadav, Olympian wrestler said that was impressed with the energy and spirit shown by the citizens of Indore. “This was a very good event with a noble cause. The sportspersons will benefit a lot with this effort of Anand Menezes and his team. I have extended by entire support for his future runs,” said Yadav.
This event has received official recognition from the Athletics Federation of India. The 10KINTENCITY run which started from Pune and received a huge response in Indore yesterday will now move on to Hyderabad. The winners for 10K INTENCITY Run received Rs 35,000, 25,000 and 15,000 as prize money.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Anand Menezes, Ex-Olympian, Founder & Director, Andy Event Management said, “The event was a big success and on behalf of Andy Event Management, I thank the sportspersons who are part of this movement. I thank the citizens of Indore who came and have pledged to keep the nation Green and Healthy. We aim to replicate the same success during our Hyderabad leg later this month.”
The 10KINTENCITY Run, through the support of the Indian Olympians Association (An association of former Olympians), who are our official charity partner will be the recipient of our money generated which will be disbursed to former and current Olympians along with aspiring sportspersons so that money can be ploughed back in creating a sound infrastructure system which will not only inspire existing sportspersons but also create future Olympians of our country.
The 10KINTENCITY run that started from Pune will be followed by Indore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bhubaneshwar, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Baroda, Delhi and will culminate on 11th February 2018 in Goa. The total prize money for the winners of the 10K INTENCITY Run across cities is Rs. 50 lacs.

10K Men’s Winner – Sukhdev Singh (1st 31:58 mins), Vipin Patel (2nd 32:19 mins), Harmanjot Singh (3rd 32:21 mins). 10K Women Winners: Monika Chaudhary (1st 37:30 mins), Phulan Pal (2nd 37:32 mins), Dimple Singh (3rd 37:34).
