100-BED satellite PGI Centre for Ferozepur

Ferozepur, January 26, 2013:  With the nod of Health Ministry to set up 100-bed satellite Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research Centre (PGIMER) for Ferozeur,  the border town will not be a backward and people of the area would get the healthcare services locally instead of rushing to the nearby stations in the case of any emergency.

Parminder Singh Pinki, Ferozepur MLA confirmed the development. He said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has been asked to prepare a project with financial implications in order to get the final approval for the project.

Pinki said, “The SAD-BJP government should rise above party lines and provide land for this project, which will be funded entirely by the Centre”.

The hospital with a provision of 24-hour emergency services alongwith OPD and inpatient facilities would also be provided at the centre to come at the cost of around Rs.200 crore.  It will provide relief to the people of the area both from health point of view and everlasting fear of war as with the set-up of hospital, according to UN Convention, the areas where hospitals were situated were not supposed to be attacked during war.
