Make land allotment transparent and only to deserving: CPI

Ludhiana, May 22, 2017: Welcoming the statement of local bodies minister Shri Navjot Sidhu printed in a section of media that those occupying and living at the government land for the last 20 years will be allotted this land, the Communist Party of India has demanded this allotment should be made only to those who do not have any land in their name. They should be asked to give affidavit on this. Com Kartar Singh Bowani – District Secretary, Dr Arun Mitra & Com D P Maur – Assistant Secretaries, Com Ramesh Rattan – City secretary, Com Gurnam Sidhu Astt. City Secretary and Com Randhir Singh Dhira said that if this allotment is made in a transparent manner than the landless poor who are constantly facing the threat of evection will get much desired relief. The whole process has to be meticulously planned so that the land mafia does not get benefit out of this. During the tenure of previous government such mafia under the political patronage occupied the government land and earned huge amount. This has to be stopped and the laces occupied by them should be got vacated and schools, college, hospitals, parking and other public utility services should be opened at these vacated lands. It is a well known fact that lacks of poor people are living in sub human conditions and if they are not provided with proper living places and minimum basic facilities than the dream of smart city will be just a hollow slogan.
