Aware the voters about VVPAT: Chief Electoral Officer of Himachal

Dharamshala, August 21, 2017: Mr Pushpender Rajput, Chief Electoral Officer of Himachal Pradesh directed all the concerned officers to get prepared for the coming assembly elections in the state. In a meeting for the officers of the Districts of Kangra, Chamba and Una at Dharamshala today, Rajput directed them to prepare them self for free, fair, smooth and peaceful elections for the assembly in the state.
He directed the officials to aware the voters about EVM and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT). VVPAT is a method of providing feedback to voters using a ballot less voting system.
He also took feedback about the creation of different committees in the areas of the district officers of the three districts.
The meeting was attended by Commissioner Nandita Gupta, Deputy Commissioner Kangra CP Verma,DIG JP Singh, SP Kangra Ramesh Chhajta, ADM Kangra M R Bhardwaj, ADM Una Sukhdev Singh, SP Una Sanjeev Gandhi,ADM Chamba Balbir Thakur and others.
