‘Google Bebe’ interacts with CT University students
Philanthropist SPS Oberoi adopts 25 CTU students Ludhiana, September 15, 2018: CT University (CTU) in association with Disha Women Welfare Trust, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Mohali organised an interactive session with Kulwant Kaur popularly known as ‘Google Bebe’ on her speciality acumen of narrating the tales of history of India in general and of Sikhism, in particular. The lady herself addressed all the diverse questions by students and faculty with extreme aptness. The students appreciated her talent. The event was graced by the immensely honoured, Chief Guest for the day, Surinder Paul Singh Oberoi, Managing Trustee of Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust; Subhash Goyal, Social Worker, Chairman of Jeewan Sanchar Welfare Society; Krishan Kumar Bawa, President Banda Singh Bahadhur Memorial Foundation; Gurdip Singh, S.P. Head Quarter, Ludhiana Rural, Pargat Singh Grewal, President Prof Mohan Singh Foundation, Ludhiana , Gurmel Singh Dhaliwal of Jassowal Charitable Trust, Ludhiana, Kuldip Kaur, Vice Chairperson, among others. From CT University, Charanjit Singh Channi, Chancellor; Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor; Manbir Singh, Managing Director; Dr Jagtar Dhiman, Registrar and all the Head of Schools, Faculty members and Students. Speaking on the occasion, Surinder Pal Singh Oberoi, Managing Trustee of Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust appreciated the efforts being made by Disha Women Welfare Trust and the CT University, for promoting the values of Sikhism. He shared how the Google Bebe was supported towards obtaining higher education at Punjabi University Department of Sikhism, for further chiselling her special interest in the subject. He announced that 25 needy students of CT University will be adopted for higher education adding that his Trust has already supported the education of 6600 students from various universities and colleges. During the session, Google Bebe said that the youth must learn to live with good deeds, see good and end up the evil side. She focused on women empowerment and stated the importance of women in society. Charanjit Singh Channi, Chancellor of CT University lauded the benevolent and philanthropic activities being carried out by Mr Oberoi under the aegis of Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust. He thanked the Disha Women Welfare Trust members for giving CT University an opportunity to host the Rubru with Google Bebe.
