Workshop on Software Technology in Guru Nanak Dev University

Amritsar, May 18, 2015: A 7-Day “Workshop on Software Technology for Ph.D./Post Doctoral Scholars/Teaching Faculty concluded at the UGC-Human Resource Development Centre of Guru Nanak Dev University on Monday. As many as 66 teachers and Research Scholars from the country participated.

Prof. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Registrar was the Chief Guest. Prof. Rakesh Mudgal, Vice-Chancellor Teerthankar Mahavir University, Moradabad was the Guest of Honour on this occasion. Prof. Dhillon in his valedictory address lauded the endeavours of the HRDC for conducting a Workshop on such an important topic, which is one of the basic necessities for all the teachers of higher education as well as for research scholars in the modern time.

Expressing the hope that the participants would have definitely enriched, enhanced their expertise in the use of software technology, he counselled them to incorporate the knowledge gained during the workshop in their academic work. Only then the aim of conducting such workshop will be achieved in the true sense, he further said, Prof. Dhillon further emphasized on the trust between the teachers and the taught, which in his view, is the need of the hour particularly after the introduction of the credit based evaluation system. Prof. Rakesh Mudgal also shared his views and experiences on this occasion.

Prof. Avinash Kaur Nagpal, Director, Human Resource Development Centre in her welcome address threw light on the primary need of sensitizing the teaching community particularly of non-IT background to the use of software technology. Dr. Kuljit Kaur Coordinator of the workshop summarized the delebrations of the workshop. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
