Jalandhar, October 11, 2016: “If you want to conquer the anxiety of life, live in the moment, live in the breath.” – Amit Ray. Authenticity reduces stress and produces faith in oneself and in the potential to grow and learn. Cambridge International school for Girls held a workshop for students of X, XI, XII and teachers on “Stress Management and Performance Enhancement” on 10th and 11th October, 2016 . The workshop aimed to educate about different ways they can handle their stress.
The first session was taken up by Mr.Anand Prakash Mishra. A legal and higher education enthusiast working in law school and university administration. The second session was taken up by Mr.Kush Makkar, a research associate with Jindal Global Law School, with his focus of research in International Commercial Arbitration. The session also threw light on the various skills required for pursuing a particular career, and how a combination of such skills is essential for success in a field. They introduced the students to the various career paths available under the categories Humanities, Science, Commerce, Vocational Skills, self-employment and new careers based on competitive exams.
Indrani Lahiri Senior Trainer, Jindal institute of Behavioral Sciences, Jindal Global University. Her area of specialization encompasses latest pedagogical best practices with a special focus on the use of Multiple Intelligences and Project Based Learning in the classroom. It offered a multi- modal approach towards understanding and managing stress. Students got an insight into the various causes and symptoms associated with stress. The workshop provided an access to tools and tips to manage stress, enhance performance and enrich ones mental and physical well being.
The workshop was concluded by Dr. Sanjeev P Sahni, he shared his valuable views on Performance Enhancement and Career options. He is the Principal Director of Jindal Institute of Behavioral Sciences (JIBS) at the Jindal Global University, Sonepat. He is also the Director for “Center for Innovative Leadership and Change”, “Center for Victimology and Psychological studies”, Member of the Governing Body and Advisor to the Vice Chancellor of the Jindal Global University. He talked to students and young adults about how to deal with overwhelming stress both on their own and with services offered. Further effective and ever lasting methods such as relaxation techniques and lifestyle changes necessary to combat stress were discussed.
The occasion witnessed the gracious presence of the Executive Director Mr. J.K. Kohli, Ms. Geeta, Director of LWES and Ms. Deepa Dogra, Principal and worthy Academic Director. Cambridge family was grateful to them for sharing their perspectives and for giving so generously of their time.
