Shimla, October 22, 2015: The strike by the workers of Torrent Company at Baddi in Solan has been called off last evening due to personal intervention of the Industries Minister Shri Mukesh Agnihotri. The workers of the factory were on hunger strike for last few days to press their various demands.
Shri Agnihotri said that the State Government was committed to protect the interests of the working class in the State, besides providing them all basic amenities. He said that conducive and peaceful environment coupled with industrial peace was also being insured in the State. He said that the State Government has constructed labour hostels and women hostels in major industrial areas of the State to facilitate the working class. He also appreciated the efforts of the State Labour Department for resolving the issue and settling all other matters.
The Management of Torrent has assured the workers that all their genuine demands would be considered sympathetically.
