Welnis Launches Range of edible oils in tin packaging first time in North India

Ludhiana, September 17, 2017: Welnis has recently introduced three oils in the market namely Canola Oil, Soya Bean Oil and Mustard Oil, marking a shift from the conventional plastic-packaging to a safer and much-recommended tin packaging.

Daily Punjabi food items rank high in terms of oil content. There have been concerns regarding the consumption of excess oil which lead to a significant cardiovascular issues in the body. High cholesterol is the known cause of plaque collection in the arteries thereby increasing the chances of a stroke. Even so, the quality of oil can also have an impact of the heart-health. Recent findings reveal that coloured-plastic packaging of oils can potentially cause toxicity due to the reaction from the oil being stored in the plastic container for long periods.

In the light of growing concerns about the oil consumption and packaging, Welnis has take a step forward in addressing this issue by coming up with tin-packaged healthy oils which are relatively healthier and safer to consume.

Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu, MP, commented, “I am happy to see that steps are being taken to salvage the issue of toxic oil consumption in Punjab. Our dishes are incomplete without copious amount of oil enriching their taste. Therefore it becomes increasingly important for us to make sure that we are using oils that don’t pose a threat to our healthy living. I welcome the step of introducing tin-packaged oil.”

Ms Anvita Chattwal,Dietician stated, “As a dietician, I feel thankful that finally the growing concerns are being addressed. coloured-plastic containers react to the oil and increase the harmful effects that it can have on our body. Not only does the tin-packaging is a better option but also Oils like Canola oil have plenty of health and skin benefits.”
