WEEKLY “BAZAAR” FOR SELF HELP GROUPS IN NEW PARKING OF DISTRICT ADMINISTRATIVE COMPLEX ON EVERY SATURDAY
SELF HELP GROUPS WOULD BE ABLE TO SELL THEIR PRODUCTS: ADC (D) DR SHENA AGGARWAL Ludhiana, March 8, 2019: Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Dr Shena Aggarwal has informed that to promote rural self help groups in the district, the District Administration has decided to provide them temporary land for setting up their “bazaar”. She said that starting tomorrow, i.e. March 9, this bazaar would be set up on every Saturday of the month in the newly constructed parking in District Administrative Complex, Ludhiana from 11 am to 4 pm. She informed that this decision has been taken on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal. She said that this step would help the self help groups financially as they would be able to sell their produce without any middleman in Ludhiana city. She said that different canopies would be provided to each self help group, where they would be able to set up their shop on every Saturday of the month. Dr Aggarwal informed that different self help groups registered with departments such as DRDA, NABARD, NRLM, Agriculture, would participate in this weekly “Bazaar”. She said that if any self help group is interested in setting up shop in this Bazaar can contact the office of ADC (D) Ludhiana on any working day. It is pertinent to mention that self help groups registered under the Atma scheme and which participate in Atma Kisan Bazaar every Sunday, would also participate in this “Bazaar” on Saturday’s.
