WALK-IN INTERVIEW for recruitment of 392 doctors across 13 specialties: Director Health

Chandigarh, July18, 2013: The Department of Health and Family Welfare, Punjab will hold walk-in interview for 392 posts across 13 specialties on 22nd July, 2013 at Auditorium, State Institute of Health & Family Welfare Complex, Near Civil Hospital, Phase-VI, Ajitgarh, (Mohali).  

Giving information in this regard, Dr Ashok Nayyar, Director Health & Family Welfare, Punjab said that the selection of specialist doctors is done by a committee chaired by Dr. K.K. Talwar, Former Chairman, MCI, and is based on objective criteria which among others includes the marks obtained in MBBS & MD along with number of attempts made by the candidate to clear final MBBS and MD. Further, certain weightage is also given to experience, articles authored or co-authored in International and National journals and certificate of merit/gold medal if any in PG examination.       

Dr. Nayar said that this walk-in interview is a part of simplified recruitment for specialists which has been initiated since September 2012 by the Department.                                He added that the department is hopeful that this transparent & objective recruitment procedure would encourage post graduates with requisite specialty to join the Department of Health & Family welfare and offer their services to the people of the state.

The details regarding eligibility criteria, category-wise and specialty-wise vacant post are available on the public notice uploaded on www.pbhealth.gov.in. and  Eligible candidates may fill the online application form available on www.pbhealth.gov.in.  The selected specialists shall serve on a pay scale of 15600-39100+ 5400 G.P + NPA Admissible + PG Allowance.
