Ludhiana, November 29, 2015: On the occasion of Anti Obesity Day (November 26), VLCC Ludhiana (Ferozepur road) has organised a seminar to create awareness about obesity recently. They have organised a specialist doctor’s meet. With launching of Stand Up India Anti Obesity campaign, Dr.Ritika Jindal told people regarding various diseases which are occurring due to obesity. On the occasion, various doctors Dr. Rajesh Sofat, Dr. Kamal Jindal, Dr. Anju Garg and Dr. Rohit Garg were there to tell people regarding side effects of obesity. Chief Guest Mrs. Rajni Bector and Mrs. Seema Jain lit candles on this occasion. Clients bought their own low calorie recipe and enjoyed the recipe show. 
According to VLCC Punjab Area Head Monika Mahajan, Stand Up India campaign tell us that how sedentary life causes decrease in the life expectancy of people and various problems like heart diseases, hypertension, cancer etc. According to various investigations, it is proved that if a person stands for one hour daily, he/she can burn upto 50Kcalories. According to various researches, it has also been proved that people who sit for 6-7 hours daily, have tendency of diabetes, heart problems, cancers etc.
Says Mrs Vandana Luthra, Founder, VLCC, “As many as 30 per cent of the people who came to us for weight loss are unaware of underlying medical conditions such as hypertension, hypothyroid, PCOS, diabetes, hyperinsulinemia, arthritis etc., which needs immediate medical attention. This knowledge paper is in many ways, a summary of our 26 years of experience in the wellness industry where we have attempted to highlight several underlying health issues that plague Indians.
Anti obesity was started 15 years back by Padamshree awarded Mrs. Vandana Luthra. She aware people who are leading sedentary life about side effects of obesity. According to various scientists, India’s percentage in overweight people is increasing day by day. In 1980 it was 14%. Now it has increased to upto 20%. According to Analysis of International Medicine 2015, Jan, it has proven that standing for 1/4th day daily can decrease various health related problems. 
VLCC, Ludhiana centre Head Surbhi Arora, Beauty head Kiran Kant, slimming Incharge Rashmi, along with dieticians have taken pledge against obesity.
