Vigilance nabs XEN MC Kapurthala in graft case

Chandigarh, August 29, 2014: In a major breakthrough during its anti corruption campaign, The Vigilance Bureau today caught XEN Municipal Council red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 15,000.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the vigilance bureau said that accused XEN Parshotam Kumar who was posted at Municipal Council, Kapurthala was apprehended on the complaint of Pardeep Kumar, Government Contractor. In his complaint to the vigilance bureau Pardeep Kumar alleged that XEN Parshotam Kumar was demanding bribe of Rs. 15,000 to refund his security deposit.
The spokesperson said that acting on the tip off, a trap was laid by the team of Vigilance Bureau, Flying Squad-1, Mohali headed by Hargobind Singh, S.P, Vigilance Bureau/Flying Squad-I, Mohali and accused Parshotam Singh, XEN, Municipal Council, Kapurthala was arrested red handed in his office while accepting bribe of Rs. 15,000 from the complainant and this amount was recovered from him in the presence of govt. witnesses and shadow witness.
