Vigilance nabs 2 clerks in two different traps in Punjab

Chandigarh, August 6, 2014: The Vigilance Bureau (VB), Punjab, in its anti-corruption campaign, today laid 2 traps at Ludhiana and Moga and caught two clerks red-handed with the bribe money.
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the VB said that the first traps was laid by Vigilance Bureau Unit, Ludhiana team at Village Akalgarh, where Upper Division Clerk (UDC) Didar Singh was nabbed from his house receiving bribe money of Rs.15,000 from the complainant Mr. Ranjit Singh of Village Aitiana (Ludhiana). Complainant has alleged that UDC, posted at PSPCL, Sub Division Budhel, Sudhar (Ludhiana) was demanding bribe of Rs.5,000 per motor (total Rs.15,000) to upgrade the load of his three motors, besides the government fee of Rs.40,000.
In second such incident, the team of Vigilance Bureau Unit, Moga caught Balwinder Singh, Lower Division Clerk (LDC) of PSPCL, Sub Division Bilaspur (Moga), red-handed with the bribe money of Rs.8,000. He was nabbed on the complaint of Mr. Kulwinder Singh of Village Himatpura (Moga), who alleged that LDC was demanding Rs.10,000 to transfer the tube well connection on his uncle name, which was presently allotted on his father name. The deal was struck at Rs.8,000 and the LDC was nabbed red-handed receiving the bribe.
