Vigilance Bureau nabs patwari with bribe money of Rs.10,000

Chandigarh, July 16, 2014: Vigilance Bureau, Punjab today nabbed a Patwari red-handed with the bribe money of Rs.10,000.
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the bureau said that Jaswant Singh, Former Sarpanch of Village Lohgarh, district Mansa has complained that Patwari Darshan Singh posted at Revenue Circle, Khiali Chaihalanwali and having additional charge of Ranjitgarh Bandar and Lohgarh, was demanding Rs.20,000 for mutation of land and the deal was matured for Rs.10,000.
Acting on the tip of the complainant, Mansa Vigilance Bureau team, led by DSP Paramjeet Singh, laid a trap and nabbed Darshan Singh red-handed, while accepting money from the complainant.
The spokesman further said that a case under section 7 and 13 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 has been registered against Darshan Singh at Vigilance Bureau Police Station, Bathinda.
