Vijayawada, September 1, 2017: A Valedictory Program of 60 Days Driving Training of 56 BRU (REANG) Tribe students held in the city . They were trained for the job role of Chauffeur-cum-taxi driver. It was organized under the Special Project on BRU Tribe, under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 2.0 held in city on Thursday at the Training Center of The Krishna District Lorry Owners Association (Model Training Centre).

According to Smt.Rajeshwari Yallapragada, Coordinator of the project, Mahesh Singla, IPS Advisor, North East, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India was the Chief Guest.

The training was conducted by Yuva Vikas Society, the training partner of NSDC (National Skill Development Council) at The Krishna District Lorry Owners Association, Model Training Centre.

Ashish Bhave, Secretary, Yuva Vikas Society, Training partner of NSDC (National Skill Development Council) , C.V.Rajesh, CA, Yuva Vikas Society, Koneru Venkara Ramesh, President, The Krishna District Lorry Owners Association, Sunkara Ramesh Babu , Secretary , The Krishna District Lorry Owners Association, J. Ram Mohan, ABVP zonal organizing Secretary also graced the valedictory function.

Yuva Vikas Society (YVS) is a Not for Profit (NPO). YVS was created by social activists, with a track record of selfless work for the downtrodden at the grassroots level with goal of working in the file of Skill Development of Youth. YVS is associated with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) as Training Partner and implementing Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY)-2 scheme for the skill development.

In September 1997, after exodus from Mizoram, Bru Tribals were bound to take shelter at six migrant camps of Kanchanpur, Sub-Division of North Tripura District in Tripura State Approximately 55,000 people are still living in six migrant camps in pathetic condition. Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Govt of India is working on repatriation of Displaced Bru Tribals. This concept has been imitated by the Ministry of Home Affairs as a part of repatriation drive.

The objective this Special Project for BRU(REANG) Tribal under PMKVY 2.0 is to train the Displaced Bru Tribal and settler them back in their native land of Mizoram. The intention of the skill training special project is to ensure displaced Bru Tribals that they have livelihood to support themselves and their families. The Skill training will be a morale booster to achieve the objective of resettling them back to Mizoram.
