UT DGP visits PU
Chandigarh, January 6, 2019: Mr.Sanjay Beniwal, DGP, U.T.Chandigarh visited Panjab University and had a meeting with Professor Raj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University and other senior faculty members. PU VC and the DGP agreed that various Departments of Panjab University and Chandigarh Police can have collaboration in terms of student internship and training, running short term programmes for police people, and conducting need based research studies. DGP shared that there is an immediate need of a third party audit of various police initiatives and in this matter he requested Panjab University to play a pivotal role. The Vice-Chancellor asked the DGP to start and fund a Chair in Panjab University, which DGP readily agreed. Prof. Sanjay Kaushik, DCDC, Prof. R.K. Singla, Prof. Ashwani Kaul, CUS, Chairpersons and representatives from Departments of Defence Studies and National Security Studies, Police Administration, Forensic Science and Criminology, Human Rights and Duties, Computer Science and Laws were present.
