UBS Ludhiana Organized Inter-state quiz “Gyanmanthan – 2018”

Ludhiana, September 14, 2018: University Business School, Panjab University Regional Centre, Ludhiana organized an Inter-state quiz contest “Gyan Manthan – 2018” at its Annie Besent Auditorium today. Mr.Abhishek Munjal, Director, Hero Cycles Ltd was the Chief Guest for Inaugural Ceremony whereas S.Upkar Singh Ahuja, Managing Director, New Swan Group of Companies graced the event as chief guest for the prize distribution ceremony. Prof.Ravi Inder Singh, Director, Panjab University Regional Centre, Ludhiana welcomed the guests. During his address he shared that Gyanmanthan is an annual event at UBS Ludhiana. It was started in the year 2012 with the motto to instill the spirit of winning with competition and hard work amongst the youth. Response to this event is increasing exponentially and this year 42 teams representing Universities, Colleges, B-schools and Institutes from Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu are participating this event. Dr. Ashish Saihjpal, Coordinator, UBS Ludhiana presented the annual report of department. He apprised the audience that this year UBS Ludhiana is celebrating the successful completion of 11 years. It has been a matter of pride that every year students of UBS Ludhiana are bagging top university positions in Panjab University, Chandigarh examinations. He emphasized that placements of students is one of key thrust area for UBS Ludhiana. During the placement seasion-2018, different companies of repute like ITC, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Jaro Education etc. have recruited the student from this institute. Team representing the SCD Govt. College, Ludhiana College won the event whereas teams representing Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management College and HMV College, Jalandhar College bagged the second and third position respectively. Vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Shashi Kapoor. The event was concluded with national anthem.
