UBS Ludhiana to organise International Conference On CSR on Jan 30-31

Ludhiana, January 29, 2015: The University Business School (UBS) Ludhiana will be organising an international conference on corporate social responsibility (CSR) on January 30 and 31 at Panjab University Regional centre, Ludhiana. More than 150 scholars, academicians, corporate managers and students are expected to present their research papers and will highlight CSR and its importance in the business world. CSR in recent times has gained great importance for businesses. This is made more relevant by the fact that as per the new Companies Act 2013, it is obligatory for corporates to spend at least 2% of their profits towards CSR activities.

The two days of this conference will have research papers addressing various issues and sub-themes related to CSR, like CSR and bottom line, Social accounting and reporting, carbon trading, environmental accounting and reporting, women safety at work place and politico-legal issues et al.

Prof. A K Bhandari, Dean University Instructions, Panjab University, Chandigarh will grace the inaugural session as Chief Guest, Prof. Keshav Malhotra, Dean Faculty of Commerce and Business Management from Panjab University, Chandigarh will be the Guest of Honour.

Key note address will be delivered by Prof. C L Chandan, from Himachal Pardesh University Business School, HP University, Shimla.
