Two Committees Constituted To Check Gunny Bales Quality For Paddy Packing

Chandigarh, October 10, 2015: On the complaint received from Punjab Rice Miller Association regarding poor quality gunny bales, Punjab Food and Civil Supply Department  has taken immediate action and two committees have been constituted at under the chairmanship of General Manager for checking.  Gunny bales quality  was found correct in the inspection reporte given by one committee.
Disclosing this here today a spokesman of the Punjab Government said that  one committee had  checked the Jute Bales at Nabha Centre. Rice Miller Association and ICI representative were included in the inspection team also. Gunny bales were found correct as per determined specifications of Food and Civil Supplies Department. These teams would also visit other centres of the state in future  for inspection.
He further said that  after receiving the reports from the inspection teams, if any  discrepancies has been found  in the quality of gunny bales during the cross checking of the quality report then department would wirte to DGS and D and Jute Commissioner for further strict action against the culprit. The Spokesman further clarified that Jute Bales for Paddy and wheat procurement were supplied by Director General Supplies and Disposal of Government India Department from Jute Milles. The spokesman further said that the Punjab government do not procure any gunny bales from Jute Mills directly.
