Timings Of GISTCs Brought On Par With Government Schools

Chandigarh, April 26, 2016: To order to imbibe quality perspective amongst teachers in teacher training project, Dr.Daljit Singh Cheema, Education Minister, Punjab has approved the change in working schedule of 12 Government In Service Teacher Training Institutes (GISTC) & 10 Training Centers clubbed with them. Disclosing here today an Official Spokesman of the Department said that from 1st May 2016, all teacher training institutes will be working according to the school timings.
The spokesman said that this decision has been taken on request of teachers who have been working as master resource persons in the project. He said that Education Minister was of the view that mostly good, hard-working & efficient teachers did not want to work in GISTCs due to long/office hours. With change in timing and summer/winter break, good efficient teachers would whole heartedly work towards improving quality perspective in government schools.
