Jalandhar, April 21, 2016: The Mass Communication and Video Production department of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized a 3-day workshop on TV Production Formats. The resource person of the workshop was Retd.Col.Sanjeev Sood from Ludhiana. Principal Prof.Dr. Ajay Sareen welcomed him with a bouquet of flowers.
Col. Sanjeev Sood traced TV production from its history by showing the very first movies like Arrival of a train, workers coming out of the factory and the first comedy films. He detailed the kind of work that went into these transmissions. He enlightened that TV production could not be apprehended better until the characteristics of TV are understood. He explained the characteristics through various movie clips from Charlie Chaplin to Hindi short film ‘Meri Pencil’. Moreover, script formats like single column and double column formats were discussed.
Col. Sood showed the very first news bulletin and explained how it was structured. Furthermore, the very first documentary movie by Lumiere brothers ‘The Pyramids’ was shown. TV production language and grammar was also discussed.
The students were involved in various kinds of assignments. On this occasion, Mrs. Ramnita Saini Sharda, Mrs. Rama Sharma & Ms. Chetandeep Kaur were also present. Principal Prof. Dr. Ajay Sareen appreciated the efforts of the department. The workshop was attended by students of Community College Diploma, B.A. Journalism, B.A. Video Production and Add on course in Reporting, Anchoring and news reading.
