THIRTEEN persons booked in post-panchayat-poll disputes

Ferozepur, July 8, 2013: In two different incidents in village Rame Wala and Kamagar, 13 persons have been booked in post-panchayat-poll disputes, by Sadar and Kulgarhi police stations, under different sections of IPC.

At village Ramewala, Kuldip Singh in his complaint has alleged that he has defeated his rival party in the panchayat elections and because of this enmity, the other group members, Baj Singh, Angrej Singh, Jasmel Singh Nirmal and Jindar manhandled with him and Karamjit Kau.  In this incident they were injured. Giving information about this, Ramesh Masih said, the investigation by the police in this case has been started.

In another incident at village Kamagar, Darshan Lal SI informed, Bakhshis Singh in his complaint has alleged that the other party was pressurising Kulwinder Singh, Balwinder Singh, Mohinder Singh, Shinder Singh, Jagdev Singh, Sher Singh, Daler Singh, Davinder Singh to cast vote in their favour.  On not doing so, he along with Gursewak Singh Lakhwinder Singh were allegedly manhandled and seriously injured.  They also uttered some irrelevant words against their caste. 

He further said, a case under sections 324, 323, 148, 149 IPC have been registered against the alleged accused.

In both these cases, 13 persons have been booked in the post-panchayat-poll disputes.
