Dharamshala, October 8, 2016: In a press release from exiled Tibetans here it is said that on the auspicious occasion of Dharma Chakra Parivarthan Diwas, they are convening a two days “Thank You India” program in the Orange city of India, Nagpur from 9-10 October 2016 at Dragon Palace Temple, Kemptee. Thank You India program is jointly organised by Tibet Support Groups in Maharashtra in coordination with India Tibet Coordination Office based in New Delhi, Tibet Museum, Tibet Policy Institute and Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts.
The program will feature expert talks on Tibet in Sino-India Relations, Significance of Tibetan Plateau and present critical situation inside Tibet; Photo Exhibition on “Indo-Tibet Relations” and “Biography of His Holiness the Dalai Lama” and a screening of documentary film on Tibet. There will also be a performance on Tibetan cultural and traditional dance by artists from Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA) from Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh.
Since Tibet’s illegal occupation by China in 1959, His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Tibetan people have been living in India for more than 55 years.
The Central Tibetan Administration official Mr Lobsang said in Dharamshala that as a mark of gratitude to the People and Government of India for their genuine support and concern to the Tibet cause, Central Tibetan Administration has organised a ‘Thank You India’ program at various cities of India such as O.P Jindal University in Sonipat, Haryana and Malabar Palace in Calicut, Kerala in past few months. The same will be organise in major cities like Nagpur in Maharashtra, Chennai in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the following days.
He said, “The Tibetan residing in India remains grateful to India, whereas their real cause has still not achieved so far. Towards this, the only solution is possible through dialogue which unfortunately got stagnated since January 2010. We as Indian Tibet Supporters therefore engaged in disseminating proper information upon the significance of this dialogue and appeal Indians to pressurize the Government of India to initiate upon the facilitation of dialogue between representatives of People’s Republic of China and His Holiness the Dalai Lama.”
