Thandal suspends DSP of Central Jail Gurdaspur

Chandigarh, June 23, 2014: Sohan Singh Thandal, Jail Minister, Punjab today suspended Balvir Singh Bisla, DSP (maintenance) deputed at Central Jail, Gurdaspur on charge of negligence and for entering into clash with jail staff.
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the state government said that after the reports of fight between the jail staff of central jail Gurdaspur hit the headlines, the Jail Minister immediately marked inquiry to the Jagjit Singh, Inspector General, jail. He said that in the inquiry report of Inspector General, Jail, Balvir Singh Bisla, DSP (maintenance), central jail, Gurdaspur has been found guilty of negligence from his duty and to provoke his subordinate staff to enter into physical clash with the DSP (security) Hasbans Lal. He said that the Jail Minister Sohan Singh Thandal immediately passed order to suspend the guilty officer.  
On the other hand, Thandal issued strict advisory to the jail staff deputed across the state to discharge their duty with utmost care. He said that such kind of incidents would amount to tarnish the image of the Punjab government on one hand and increasing the moral of the jail inmates on the other hand. He said that anyone found guilty of negligence from his officially duty would be severely dealt with.
