Ludhiana, October 13, 2012: ZETC Punjabi is all set to take Punjabi Sufi and Folk music to all new heights with a very unique programme titled SURAAN DE WARIS. This show will redefine the contemporary Punjabi regional entertainment with musical content of great style and composition.

The channel gives a never before platform to a league of very talented yet unexplored singers from Punjab in the 65 episode studio based series all set to be televised on weekdays in prime time slot. This show which is very simple and subtle in its format will be self anchored by singers who sing soulful and heart smearing numbers which create the most beautiful ever concoction of tunes, melody and mysticism.

While the entire entertainment in this slot has staples such as serials and family dramas this show paves way for entertainment programming truly distinct in style and flavour. The rustic Sufi and Folk numbers that patronize Punjabi tradition and culture are further sweetened by the divine mix of two of the most beautiful languages: Punjabi & Urdu making it one of the kinds that have never been done in the history of Punjabi entertainment.

It was an effort of immense research that helped the channel find out 65 such singers who have a delightful command on Sufi & Folk music and who master the most unadulterated facets of authentic singing in this genre. Each episode will feature an AV on these singers where the viewers get to know the background, profession and relevant personal details of the singer. This is followed by a melodious melange of 5-6 folk-Sufi songs sung in the studio.

The show goes on air on ZETC Punjabi, 15th October onwards, Mon-Fri, 7pm.
