Superintendent And Deputy Superintendent Suspends And Chargesheet Issued To Five Teachers

Chandigarh, February 24, 2016: After a matter of copying came to light at Sant Baba Jagat Singh Senior Secondary School, Harsh Chhina in Amritsar district, the Education Department took strict action and have suspended the superintendent and deputy superintendent of the examination centre, while five teachers who were responsible to keep check on copying have been chargesheeted. Besides this, the education department has written to PSEB for cancelling the affiliation of this school and have written for disciplinary action against the school principal and deputy superintendent. The board has already decided to cancel this examination. This information was provided by DPI (Secondary Education) Mr Balbir Singh Dhol in a press statement.
Mr Dhol stated that Education Minister Dr Daljit Singh Cheema has already issued clear instructions that any school or officials involved in copying would be dealt strictly. He said that on February 20, the exam of english language was going on at Sant Baba Jagat Singh Senior Secondary School, Harsh Chhina (Amritsar) and when the flying squad reached the school at 3:45 pm, the main gate was locked and despite blowing horn on the main gate for 10 minutes, the school gate remained locked and was opened later. And when the flying squad reached inside, it found several discrepancies and illegal material, after which the paper was cancelled.
He informed that Centre Superintendent Balwan Singh (lecturer of physical education, Government Senior Secondary School, Majitha) and deputy superintendent Harjit Singh (DPE Government High School, Dhariwal), have been suspended. The charge sheet has been issued to other staff included Kulwinder Kaur (DPE Government High School, Adliwal), Vikramjeet Singh (Maths teacher, Government High School, Adliwal), Baljinder Singh (Government Primary School Tapiala), Ramanjit Kaur (Government Primary School, Dharamkot) and Kamaljit Kaur (Government Primary School Kiyampur). It has been written to board secretary to take disciplinary action against school principal Monika Sharma and deputy superintendent Sumanpreet Kaur.
