STUDENTS OF GURUKUL MANTRA INSTITUTE VISIT PAU

Ludhiana, June 16, 2017: A delegation of 15 students from Gurukul Mantra Institute, Ludhiana, visited Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) to have a glimpse of rich cultural heritage of Punjab, its waters and agricultural subsidiary occupations.

As a part of exposure visit, the students visited beekeeping unit and mushroom farm at PAU wherein experts apprised them of both the lucrative occupations. The experts told that Punjab was producing 39 and 40 per cent of country’s honey and mushroom, respectively. Besides, the students visited Dr Uppal Museum and Museum of Rural Life of Punjab in the University. They were also informed about the present condition of water and soil in the state. In addition, they had a view of glittering heritage of Punjab.

Dr T.S. Riar, Professor of Extension Education, said the students were also told about the importance of tree planting. Later, they planted saplings of 11 trees at Kairon Kisan Ghar, PAU. Dr Riar coordinated the visit of the students to the University.
