Kapurthala, October 19, 2015: The Standing Committee Meeting of district Kapurthala was held on Monday under the Chairmanship of Shri Sarabjit Singh Walia, Addl.Deputy Commissioner (Development), Kapurthala to review the performance of the banks and progress made under various programmes like PMJDY, PMMY, PMJSBY, PMJJBY, Atal Pension Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, Direct Benefit Transfer, Old age pension, government sponsored programmes, SHGs, Joint Liability Groups etc. 
Chief Lead District Manager, District Development Manager, NABARD, District Coordinator Officer of all the Banks, government officials and CDPO were present in the meeting. 
Shri Walia, ADC(D)  and Shri Karamjit singh, Chief LDM emphasised the need to give focused attention for advancing loans to the most vulnerable section i.e. weaker section of the society. 
ADC further directed all the banks to achieve all the targets during next quarter set for this sector. Further he directed all the bankers to give boost to the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana and achieve all the targets given to them under the scheme. 
While reviewing the progress, Shri Karamjit Singh, the Convener of the meeting informed that weaker sector targets need to be achieved. District Development Manager, NABARD Shri Rakesh informed that the exercise for preparation of  Potential linked credit plan for the year 2016-17 which was started in the month of June 2015 is over and a potential of around Rs.5044 cr. has been assessed under different sub sector of Priority Sector for the year 2016-17. To give focused attention to the Dairy and Vegetable production, area based plans has also been proposed in two blocks of the district.  The bankers were requested to give more loans under these sector to the eligible borrowers. Shri Walia directed all the bankers and government departments to clear all the list pending under government sponsored programmes and give loans to the eligible borrower after due appraisal of the beneficiaries.
