Chandigarh, January 30, 2018: The Department of History in collaboration with Department of Evening Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh organised a special lecture entitled, “Nose Lost and Honour Regained” by Prof.Susmita Basu Majumdar of Department of Ancient Indian History & Culture, University of Calcutta, West Bengal, here today.
The speaker highlighted the developments in the rhinoplasty on the basis of the Shusrut-Samhita and the use of this technique in the Nineteenth Century India. The thought provoking lecture was chaired by Prof.Anju Suri, Chairperson, Department of History, Panjab University, Chandigarh and was presided over by Prof. J.K Sharma, Former Chairperson, Department of History, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
