Special Lecture to commemorate the Parkash Utsav of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji

Chandigarh, November 11, 2016: The Department of Guru Nanak Sikh Studies, Panjab University (PU) today organised a Special Lecture to commemorate the Parkash Utsav of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The special lecture was organized on the topic of ‘Guru Nanak Bani: Revelation, Mysticism & Creativity’ in the seminar hall of Guru Nanak Sikh Studies.
PU Dean University Instructions (DUI) Professor Dinesh Kumar Gupta was the Chief Guest. In his address, Professor Gupta focused on the special contribution of Guru Nanak altruistic and magnanimous to all others around us.
Professor S.S Bhatti focused his lecture on the elements of revelation mysticism, creativity and humanity in the preaching of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He also laid bare the architectural approach in Gurbani. He made an impressive presentation through Power-Point technique and developed the process of spirituality as adopted and propagated by Guru Nanak and his followers.
Dr. Harjinder Singh Dilgir emphasized the point that Guru Nanak was a highly learned person and he could interact in many languages which he used during his voyages to meet eminent spiritual sages and scholars. His real approach was;
Interfaith dialogue and religious harmony.
Dr. Darshan Singh, exhorted the students, Research Scholars and Teachers to follow the teachings of Guru Nanak and other Sikh Gurus sincerely. He advised them to follow Shabad Guru which is the Universal spiritual light for the humanity.
Earlier, Professor Jaspal Kaur Kaang welcomed the dignitaries and participants, teachers from various colleges, research scholars and students of the department at the special lecture.
Dr. Iqbal Singh Dhillon thanked the Eminent Scholars, audience and Dr.Jaspal Kaur Kaang for making the programme a success.
