SOSVA HOLDS MEETING WITH LUDHIANA BASED FIELD NGOs
LUDHIANA NGO’S SHOULD AVAIL OF FULL BENEFITS OF VARIOUS SOCIAL PROGRAMMES: ADC (D) DR SHENA AGGARWAL Ludhiana, October 18, 2018: The Society for Service to Voluntary Agencies (SOSVA), a mother NGO, that acts as a link between the field NGO’s and the Punjab government, today held a meeting with the representatives of various field NGOs of Ludhiana district, at Bachat Bhawan, here. This meeting was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Dr Shena Aggarwal and SOSVA Chairman Mr AK Kundra. While addressing the meeting, Mr AK Kundra, IAS (Retd), Chairman, SOSVA, urged the representatives of all field NGOs of the district to avail of several welfare programmes being run by the government. He informed that SOSVA is running various programmes such as women empowerment through training, cutting and tailoring, skin and hair beauty care, computer operations, awareness against drug addiction, training of poor women in care of elderly and chronically sick, day care centres (creches) for children from poor families, free coaching for weak students from poor families, reproductive and child health (RCH) care, besides several others. Mr Kundra urged the representatives of field NGO’s to contribute in such welfare programmes so that a large number of people can be benefitted from them. He informed that more details regarding SOSVA and its programmes can be taken from website www.sosvapunjab.org and even the application forms can be downloaded from there. Dr Shena Aggarwal stated that the field NGO’s of the district are already working in various fields and thousands of people from Ludhiana district are being benefited.
