Ludhiana, August 1, 2018: A city-based journalist Subash Sethi (54) of Punjab Kesari Group died of illness on Tuesday afternoon.
He is survived by his two sons Pankaj and Udit and daughter Pragati, and widow Rajni.
His mortal remains were cremated at Civil Lines crematorium here on Wednesday. The funeral ceremony was attended by a large section of the society, including media persons, social, religious and political leaders. Those who attended the cremation ceremony included BJP leaders Satpal Gosain, Uma Dutt Sharma, Dinesh Sarpal, BJYM leader Mahesh Sharma, Rashtriya Hindu Manch Punjab president Pawan Sharma, Sunil Mehra and Charanjit Bhargav (Shivratri Mahotsav Committee), Mohinder Aggarwal, Pawan Lehar, Rajesh Aggarwal (Punjab Pradesh Beopar Mandal), Ganesh Prabhakar (senior Congress leader), Harkesh Mittal (Ludhiana Consumer Product Distributors Association), Satish Mahajan, Ashwani Mahajan, Harish Kapila, Sham Chopra (Chaura Bazaar Association), Ar. Harish Saggar and several others.
The deceased scribe had settled in Ludhiana after migrating from Jalandhar way back in the year 1992. Initially, he has set up his small scale industrial unit. However, later he joined journalism following the footsteps of his father. His father was also a senior and well acclaimed journalist and story writer with Hind-Samachar.
Subash Sethi worked for Punjab Kesari Group for about 25 years and earned his name without indulging into any kind of controversy. He was God fearing person.
The kirya ceremony for peace of the departed soul will be held at Lions Club, Ludhiana on August 12, 2018 from 2pm to 3pm.
