Chandigarh, July 29, 2015: Smartur 3D, a Hyderabad-based start-up, has received the coveted mBillionth Award South Asia 2015 for mobile Innovation under the category of m-Education & learning. Smartur 3D was selected as the best mobile innovation start-up using cutting edge technologies to magically bring textbook concepts to life. The App enables 3D visualization using Augmented Reality which plays a vital role in teaching and making students better understand the concepts of physics, Biology and Maths etc. Smartur 3D is targeted towards students from kindergarten to the 10th class. Smartur 3D has won the award after being shortlisted amongst dozens of entries in the category that included finalists from most of the south Asian countries.
The mBillionth award is one of South Asia’s leading mobile & telecom award platforms held annually that acknowledges the innovations happening across South Asia. South Asia is emerging as a key hub of the world’s mobile and telecom market in terms of penetration and innovation.
Upon receiving the award Mr.Neeraj Jewalkar, Founder CEO of Smartur 3D said, “It is an honor to receive the prestigiousmBillionth award South Asia 2015. It validates our belief that mobile is the only platform that has the reach and scale to deliver digital learning to 200 million students in India. Our strong belief in technology aided learning methods inspired us to start Smartur 3D. With Smartur 3D we aim to significantly enhance the learning outcome and quality of education in schools. Mr. Neeraj Jewalkar also added that this award has earned Smartur 3D an entry into the World Summit Awards in Singapore happening in December 2015 which recognizes the world’s best interactive contents with Social impact.
World Summit Awards (WSA) was established to achieve the goals set out by United Nations. The aim of UN-WSIS is to make Information and Communication Technology (ICT) accessible to everyone and to bridge the digital divide. To achieve this goal WSA selects and promotes the world’s most outstanding e-Content with the target of turning it into global shared knowledge.
In 2014, Smartur 3D has also been awarded the best smart class product award by the World Education Summit (WES) for providing an advanced solution to educational institutes.
The pilot deployment of Smartur 3D solutions was conducted across 20 countries in 2014 including India, UK, Canada, South Africa, Uganda, Kenya and Philippines. In the US, more than 500 schools adopted Smartur 3D in their classrooms. Smartur recently launched the android App version of Smartur 3D for tablet and mobiles. The Smartur 3D app is has been downloaded by over 30,000 students and is used by teachers in over 2000+ schools in India.
