S.K. Joshi, Chief Secretary presented IIID HRC HAFELE Design Awards 2018

Architects, Interior Designers are wonderful professionals who create things out of space, with excellent looks, design, functionality, aesthetics, comfort, convenience, value for money: S.K.Joshi Hyderabad, September 29, 2018: S.K.Joshi, Chief Secretary, Government of Telangana who was chief guest presented IIID HRC HAFELE Design Awards 2018 in the presence of Mr.Wolf, MD of Hafele here in a special function held at JRC Convention Centre on Friday night Past President-IIID Architect Bankim Dave, Past President of Institute of Indian Interior Designers was the Guest of Honour. Addressing the gathering, S.K. Joshi, Chief Secretary, Govt of Telangana commended the works of Architects and Interior Designers. There are three categories of people—Dreamers, Magicians and You are all—The Architects and Interior Designers. While dreamers sleep and dream and get good ideas. And I don’t know what to they do when the wake up with those ideas. Magicians create things out of thin air and empty space, but they are illusions. You are a wonderful professionals who create things out of space, which have excellent looks, value for money, comfort, convenience, functionality, aesthetics and design. Welcoming the gathering Aparna Bidarkar, Chairperson it is a great occasion to celebrate “Good Design”. She informed that National Conference of the community will be held later in the year at Goa. It is the biggest knowledge sharing celebration that happens every two years, she added. Many internationally acclaimed designers and game changers in the design industry will be there, the latest trends in the design industry and in governance will be discussed, she informed. The IIID Educational Tour to Portugal will take place in mid October. Aparna briefed about a symposium - ASIDE which held with an objective of trying to streamline design education with an integrated approach to interior design. Shortly we would be having a licensing protocol for interior design practice, she shared and concluded here opening remarks by quoting Albert Einstein “Creativity is intelligence having fun Shankar Narayan and Shantanu Chaudari received the IIID HRC HAFELE Design Life Time achievement Award for excellence in their area of work. Under Commercial Spaces category, Sona Jagadish Reddy; Retail Spaces, two winners Nelesh Kumar and Sona Jagadish Reddy; Hospitality Spaces Vindhya Guduru; Villa Cateogry Vindhya Guduru; Public Spaces Greater than 2000sq.ft. two winners Harish Kumar Kuna and Srinivasa Rao Maddiboyina; Installationgs Category Nelesh Kumar; Craftmanship Srinivas Babu Angara were given away awards. Young Designers Ankita Partani and D. Naga Kavya bagged Commendation award. These Awards are presented for the excellence in interior design of Telangana & Andhra Pradesh. Awards is the initiative of Institute of Indian Interior Designers Hyderabad Regional Chapter (IIID HRC), informed Aparna Bidarkar, Chairperson of Institute of Indian Interior Designers Hyderabad Regional Chapter. Architects Aparna Bidarkar, Chairperson ; Amita Raj, Hon. Secretary IID HRC and Ravi Anchuri, Convener were also present. Nearly 500 Architects, Interior Designers their guest gathered to grace the function. The thirteenth Hafele Design awards presentation is an annual affair. The awards were categorised into many categorie--Commercial, Public Spaces-A, Public Spaces-B, Residential Spaces, Residential Spaces-2, Hospitality, Young Designers and Jury special award, Installations, murals are newly added categories were presented to the winners. The winners are selected for their outstanding designs. The design awards are given to recognise the creative talent of interior designers from the two Telugu speaking states. Jury members - Ar. Sridhar Reddy, Ar. Udaya Shankar Doni, Prof. Anjani Reddy, Prof. Dr. S. Kumar, Ar. Sudhir Reddy, Ar. Yeshwant Ramamurthy and HoD Priti of CFA – JNU were also present. Engineer Ravi Anchuri curated the awards ceremony for the ninth successive year. 21 Architects and Interior Designers including Aditya, its Chairperson from Vizag also graced the awards function. IIID HRC is the local chapter of the IIID. IIID is a non-profit, professional body comprises of over 6800 members spread across the country, and has 30 Chapters / Centers. IIID HRC is the regional chapter. It is one of the most vibrant chapters in India informed Sona Chatwani, Immediate past Chairperson of the IIID HRC. These awards are the rewards for the excellence shown by interior designers. These awards motivate our members to carry on with their excellence, she said. The members include Interior Designers, Architects, Consultants, Engineers, Project Management Consultants (PMC), Design Students, System Integrators, Artists, Painters, Facility Managers, Industry Members, Manufacturers, Suppliers, Vendors, Contractors, Turnkey Solution Providers and so on.
