Jalandhar, July 2, 2016: Sikshashree Sharma student of CT institute of Hotel Management, Airline and Tourism (CTIHMAT, 2nd semester) under the patronage of CT Group of Institutions brought laurel to the institute by getting crowned as Miss Sikkim 2016.
The contest was held for a month long in Sikkim. Sixteen best contestants were selected from all over Sikkim after auditions. The final round was held at Manan Kendra, Gangtok, Sikkim. The first round was traditional followed by summer round then followed by personality round. In the personality round, Ms. Sikhshashree Sharma was questioned by the judge “What skills do you have that could help the society?” She mesmerized the crowd by answering, “Till this date I have been inspired by the famous personalities around me, but now I want to become an inspiration for the society. I want people to look at me and say, I want my daughter to be like her, I want my sister to be like her.”
Personality round was followed by gown round. In the gown round only five contestants were selected and every contestant was asked one common question: In what matter are the girls of Sikkim different from the girls of other state. She mesmerized the crowd again with her heart touching answer and goes for final round. The final round was a tough competition for all contestants. But Sikshashree Sharma proved worthy for the crowned. Sharing her ecstasy, she said, “Well I have always had passion and interest for fashion. I remember ever since my childhood days wearing my mom’s heels and putting on her makeup whenever she was not home. It’s like living my dream right now.”
About her future plans, she said, “I haven’t really decided on what I’m going to do next. Let’s see what the future holds for me.” She advice the young girls, “My advice to all the girls who want to participate in beauty pageants is to be confident and humble, and most importantly, ‘we should be who we are’.
