Dr Sibia receiving Global Healthcare Excellence Award.

Ludhiana, September 30, 2014: In a ceremony at New Delhi on Sunday, more than 40 doctors and health organisations from all over India were recognised for their innovation, dedication, creativity and service excellence. Sibia Medical Centre, Ludhiana received the Global Healthcare Excellence Award 2014, in the category of “Best Institute for Non-Surgical Heart Treatments in India” for extraordinary contribution in the field of non-invasive cardiology.  Directors Dr S S Sibia and Dr Harpreet Kaur Sibia received the award from the chief guests Arti Mehra, former National BJP Secretary and Mayor and Chairperson of Health committee of MC Delhi and Dr Giridhar Gyani the brain behind National Accreditation Board for Hospitals. The awards were the result of comprehensive market research, opinion survey and web research by Prime Time Research Media on various parameters and finally choosing the winners though a panel of distinguished jury.
Coronary heart disease is the leading cause of death worldwide. Dr Sibia provides heart patients Cardio-vascular Cartography heart blood flow mapping, US-FDA approved External Counter Pulsation (ECP) mechanical treatment and Artery Clearance Therapy (ACT) consisting of American College for Advancement of Medicine protocol intravenous Chelation Therapy and lifestyle modification. Most patients treated were not fit for bypass surgery, had recurrence after surgery, preferred to avoid surgery or wanted to improve their quality of life after bypass or stent. Treated patients could resume a near normal life, walk longer distance, have fewer angina chest pain episodes and need less medication.
The Dr Harpreet Sibia was happy that after years of hard work the concept of noninvasive preventive cardiology introduced by them has finally received national recognition and is gathering momentum and other doctors are following. International medical journals have now published positive results of Chelation Therapy and External Counter Pulsation clinical trials. But the take home message she gave is that prevention is better than cure and life style modification is the cornerstone to prevent and control heart disease and should be adopted as early as possible.
