Senior journalist Ashwani Jaitly bereaved; wife Chanchal Jaitly passes away

Ludhiana, July 26, 2018: Senior journalist Ashwani Jaitly got bereaved as his wife Chanchal Jaitly passed away after a prolonged illness. Her cremation will take place today (Thursday, July 26, 2018) at 5.30pm at the cremation ground of Urban Estate, Dugri Phase II, Ludhiana.

Chanchal Jaitly was not keeping well for the last several years and had been continuously undergoing dialysis for last many years. Her husband Ashwani Jaitly is a senior Punjabi journalist and he had retired as the Bureau Chief of Punjabi Daily Ajit at the Ludhiana sub office of the daily.

Several representatives of newspapers, TV channels, politicians, and other social organisations have mourned the death of Chanchal Jaitly.

Seven years ago, in March 2011, the only son of Jaitly couple, Aditya Jaitly had died in a tragic road accident at a young age of 25 only. He was working as a photojournalist with the leading English daily, The Times of India, at Ludhiana at that time.
