Seminar on 'Impact of Information Communication Technology on Social Science' organised at GNDU

Amritsar, January 23, 2015:  Bhai Gurdas Library of the Guru Nanak Dev University organised a National Seminar on 'Impact of Information Communication Technology on Social Science' here today in the senate Hall of the University. As many as 200 scholars from various parts of the country and from Australia are participating.
A.S.Brar, Vice Chancellor inaugurated this seminar while Dr.Abdul Majid Baba, Librarian, University of Kashmir, Srinagar delivered the keynote address.  Rajiv Vij Joint Director DRDO also presented his views on the future of libraries.  T.S.Benipal Director Research delivered  vote of thanks.
Brar in his inaugural speech cautioned the Students, Researchers because of Plagiarism. Researchers should do creative, innovative and authentic research. He said that any misconduct can bring bad name to any institution. He advised the library professionals should move with the time and no one can escape from latest technologies. In future printed sources will disappear only online reference work. Encyclopedia, databases and e-books will be in use, he added.
Earlier, H.S.Chopra, University Librarain an organizing secretary, welcomed the delegates.  He emphasised that the Librairans will have to move with time and technology. E-resources have change the entire academic scenario. Students and Researchers should wisely use the web sites. About eighty research papers are to be presented.
