SEC takes cognizance against erring officers

Shimla, December 28, 2015: A Spokesman of the State Election Commission (SEC) said here today that the Commission has taken strict cognizance against Shri Akshay Kumar, Returning Officer cum SDM Barsar, District Hamirpur and Shri Narayan Verma, Assistant Returning Officer cum Tehsildar, Kotkhai District Shimla for the allotment of election symbols  in a wrong way.

He said that the Commission has recommended to take action against these officers under section 158-L and 160-E of Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj Act-1994. The Commission has also directed them to file their clarification within three days to the Commission.
