Jalandhar, October 14, 2016: A book is a device to ignite the imagination, said Alan Bennett. Keeping this in mind, ‘Scholastic Book Fair’ is organised in CIFS from 13th October to 15 October to ensure that the students get ample access to the best books for their reading levels and interests. This customized event is being conducted to emphasize the power of written word over any apparent attractions and to widen the domains of learning. The book fair streamlined a variety of books of various genres for the students of all grades. Day 1 of the fair included Story sessions, Vocabulary Building games and activities in 3 slots for all grades by the Resource person – Ms. Maneka Khanna who has worked as English Language trainer for IELTS and trained people from varied backgrounds (doctors, nurses, navy cadets, homemakers, students and business men). Having Experience as an English Teacher, she enjoyed sharing her expertise with young children in these sessions. Equally delighted were the teachers who were also part of this fun learning activity and the feast for book lovers. Young readers selected the titles in the book fair for purchase. Even parents and other visitors to school couldn’t hold back their curiosity and excitement from attending the book fair.
“Hey that book excites me!”
Lucky draws were a great temptation for students to browse the books. The staff and students at school are looking forward to many such events organized in the coming days.
