Ruchi Soya signs MOU with the Government of Rajasthan

Chandigarh; May 7, 2015:  Ruchi Soya Industries Limited (Ruchi Soya), India’s number one edible oil and soya foods company today entered into a MoU with the state of Rajasthan for an investment of Rs 150 crore in both pre- harvest and post harvest facilities. The MoU was signed in the presence of the Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje. The agreement comes close on the heels of the company signing a similar MoU with the Maharashtra Government.
Under the Rajasthan Investment promotion Scheme, Ruchi Soya will develop Pre-harvest facilities such as providing high quality seeds, pesticides, insecticides to farmers to improve yield and post-harvest management including Warehouses, agri-waste procurement to boost farmers’ income. The facilities will also have Rooftop Solar Power Generation & Biomass briquette manufacturing facility.
Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje said, “The Rajasthan Government has signed the MoU with Ruchi Soya Industries Limited as part of its efforts to promote integrated agriculture development.  We believe through such public-private partnerships we will be able to bring in best agricultural practices in the state which will enhance productivity of farm land as well as improve the quality of the produce.” 
Dinesh Shahra, Founder and Managing Director of Ruchi Soya Industries Limited said, “We are delighted to be partnering with the Government of Rajasthan in this initiative. We are prepared to go the extra mile and even buy a certain part of the farmers produce. In line with the Make in India Campaign we are also keen on setting up R&D facility to develop high yield seeds that are suitable for Rajasthan’s climate”.
Ruchi Soya is already operating three oil seed crushing facilities in Rajasthan at Baran, Kota & Shri Ganganagar. This chain of projects will reach out to over 1 Lac farmers in Rajasthan and is expected to generate around 1.42 lakh man-days / annum of employment.
